Include Your Windows in Your Halloween Decorations

Can you believe that it is almost Halloween? Where has this year gone? When it comes to Halloween decorations, your windows can creep out your house better than anything else. After all, the windows are the eyes of the house, and, therefore, its soul. Make sure to include the windows when you put up the Halloween decorations this month. You’d be surprised by the things you can do with them.

Fake Spooky Candles

Never use real candles in the windows. Rather, get LED candles in spooky candelabras and place them on the windowsills. You can purchase LED candles that flicker, so the eerie decoration will look like real candles. Choose candelabras with blood dripping down them and attach spider webbing to them. You can even attach the spider webbing from the candelabra to the window for an added spooky effect. If you have an attic, a candelabra in the attic window is particularly frightening.

Halloween Decals

There are plenty of Halloween window decals that can spice up your exterior décor. Choose cute or scary decals depending on your taste. If you have floating Christmas lights, check to see if there is a Halloween option on the box. If there is, you will have ghosts and goblins floating all along the outside walls. You can also put black lights in your porch and yard light fixtures for added eeriness. This works particularly well if you choose window decals that will glow in the black light.

Spooky Scenes

If you have a large enough window or a window seat, you can put an entire Halloween scene in the window. Pick up life-sized skeletons and position them in a card game in the window. You can also make them look as if they are dancing or leave them staring out the window. Your imagination is the limit when it comes to creating an entire window scene that has a Halloween theme. Use your favorite scary movie or a scary amusement park ride for your inspiration.

Window Paint

Finally, you can use your imagination with some window paint, as well. This will give you a chance to hand paint scary or cute Halloween scenes on your windows from the outside. Again, you can use your favorite scary movie as inspiration, an illustration from a scary book, or a scene from your favorite frightening amusement park ride. The sky is the limit.
